The parish of St. Clare of Assisi is very happy to celebrate the sacrament of Baptism for all children that are born to parents who are practicing their faith at St. Clare’s. To arrange for a baptism, you are invited to send us the registration form you will find under this message.
For those who are not attending Mass at this or any parish, the birth of a child can be a wonderful opportunity for the parents to renew their faith. Anyone who desires Baptism for their child has a desire to hand the faith on to them. Our faith is one that is nurtured from Sunday to Sunday at the community’s Eucharistic celebration. The parish community fervently invites all parents who wish to renew their faith as they prepare to baptize their children to consider attending any of our Sunday Masses. Our Mass times are:
- Saturdays at 5:00 pm and on Sundays at 9:00 am (Italian), 10:30 am and 12:00 pm in English.
If you have any apprehensions about taking this step, please call our Office at 905-653-8000. The parish community looks forward to celebrating the baptism of the children of those who choose to renew the practice of their faith within this parish community.
As always, we as a parish need your financial help, and in thanksgiving for the gift of your child we kindly ask that you give an offering on the day of the baptism (if it is approved). What we recommend is a donation of $100.00, which will be tax receipted. God bless you, and thank you for baptizing your child into the Catholic faith. -

Other Required Paperwork (updated 2022):
- Updated Baptism certificate for each of the God parents (sponsors) - they must request it from the church where they were baptised.
ONLY ONE SPONSOR IS REQUIRED AND UP TO TWO ARE PERMITTED: ONE MALE AND ONE FEMALE. THE SPONSORS MUST BE OVER THE AGE OF 16, HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION, LEAD A LIFE OF FAITH - If the sponsors are married they must have been married in the Catholic Church. THEY CANNOT BE THE MOTHER OR FATHER OF THE ONE TO BE BAPTIZED.
- If your family is not yet registered with the parish, we ask you to register.
- If you are coming to us from another parish, we require a letter of permission from the Pastor of the parish where you reside. Here are the boundaries of our parish:

West: Pine Valley DriveIf you live outside of the area above, it means you belong to the territory of another parish. Consider having your child baptised with them.- You will need to contact the pastor there and request a letter from him if you decide to baptise your child with us.
